Our Story

South Baltimore Community Land Trust Inc was born from the passion and determination of local high school students and residents who sought to challenge harmful developments in their community. In response to the proposal of a trash-burning incinerator, they educated themselves and others about the dangers of toxic waste, leading to the establishment of SBCLT. This organization is dedicated to fostering community-owned development that prioritizes affordability and sustainability.

Our Impact

SBCLT has successfully secured over $2 million in investments for affordable housing and green spaces, developed a youth-led zero waste social enterprise, and engaged thousands of residents in creating a local compost infrastructure.
