Sourland Conservancy
EIN: 22-3707157 · Skillman, NJ
Our Story
The Sourland Conservancy was founded in 1986 by Robert Garrett, who rallied residents to address unsustainable development in the Sourland region. Over the years, it has transformed from a grassroots planning council into a dedicated conservancy focused on protecting, promoting, and preserving the unique natural and cultural resources of the Sourland Mountain region.
Our Impact
Through advocacy and community engagement, the Sourland Conservancy has successfully established a Comprehensive Management Plan endorsed by local townships. The organization has coordinated numerous restoration projects, including the planting of 50,000 trees, and has engaged the community through educational programs and events.
