Our Story

The Soul Box Project, founded by Leslie Lee in 2017, is an innovative art-based initiative aimed at raising awareness about the epidemic of gun violence in the United States. By encouraging individuals to fold origami Soul Boxes, each representing a life lost or injured by gunfire, the project fosters community engagement through art-making and memorialization.

Impact

With over 200,000 Soul Boxes displayed on the National Mall in Washington, D.C., the project has successfully created large-scale visual representations of gun violence victims. The Soul Box Project continues to engage communities nationwide, promoting healing and awareness through art-making activities.
