SONdance Christian Dance School

Our Story

SONdance Christian Dance School was founded in 1989 by Jolynda Lyon, who sought to express heartfelt praise to God through dance. With a vision to protect the innocence of young dancers and maintain modesty, Jolynda began sharing her passion with other like-minded women. Starting as a single teacher in a shared space at New Hope Church, the school has grown significantly over the years. After achieving Advanced Level certification from the Cecchetti Council of America, Jolynda now leads over 35 classes in various dance styles, including ballet, jazz, modern, and lyrical. In October 2022, SONdance moved to a new location at 967 Lifestyle St, continuing its mission to inspire and educate young dancers.

Impact

SONdance provides students with the opportunity to perform in two annual productions, showcasing their talents to family, friends, and the community. These events are a testament to the excellence and dedication of the students and instructors.
