In 2012, Denise Jacobson, a dedicated 4th grade teacher, witnessed her friend Tiffany Thompson's courageous battle with Stage IV breast cancer. This profound experience ignited a passion in Denise to create a supportive lodging option for cancer patients and their families. In 2013, alongside her husband Scott, the SON Foundation was born, offering a 'home away from home' for those undergoing treatment in Indianapolis.
Since its inception, the SON Foundation has proudly served over 1,635 guests, providing 5,898 nights of free lodging. This initiative significantly alleviates the financial burden associated with treatment-related travel and accommodation.
