Our Story

Founded in 1987, Somos, Inc. emerged from the New York State Assembly Puerto Rican/Hispanic Task Force, evolving from 'Somos Uno' to 'Somos El Futuro', and now 'Somos, Inc.' This transformation reflects the reality that Hispanics are not just the future; they are the present. With nearly 4 million Hispanics in New York State, the need for representation and advocacy is more critical than ever.

Impact

Annually, Somos, Inc. engages 8,000-10,000 participants, including elected officials and community leaders, fostering discussions that lead to transformative improvements in the socio-economic status of Hispanic communities across New York.
