Founded in 1981 in Houston, Texas, Somebody Cares America began with a simple yet profound mission: to reach out to the lost and provide hope through the love of Christ. The initiative started with a business card that read, "Somebody Cares, call 24 hours a day," and has since evolved into a powerful network of compassion outreach, disaster relief, and leadership development.

Our Journey

From its humble beginnings, Somebody Cares has expanded its reach across the United States and internationally, establishing chapters in various locations including Tampa Bay, Florida, and Indonesia. The organization has played a pivotal role in responding to major disasters, such as the tsunami in Southeast Asia and Hurricane Katrina, providing millions of dollars in aid and in-kind donations to those in need.
