Our Story
The Somali Development Center was founded in 1996 by a group of Somali Americans in Boston, dedicated to supporting refugees fleeing the Civil War. Initially focused on housing, SDC has expanded its services to empower East and West African immigrants, helping them integrate into American society.
Our Impact
SDC has placed over 500 families in affordable housing, assisted more than 2,500 individuals with legal advocacy, and helped over 1,500 families secure health insurance. The organization also supports individuals with green card and citizenship applications, providing essential resources for success.
