Solutions in Hometown Connections began in late 2015 when a group of friends and neighbors recognized the need for increased support for local refugee families. As requests for assistance grew, a structured approach was established, leading to the formal creation of SHC in 2017. Today, SHC continues to reach out to vulnerable individuals, warmly welcoming newcomers into the community.
Since its inception, SHC has experienced remarkable growth, with the number of individuals receiving assistance increasing from 21 in 2017 to 664 in 2023. In 2023 alone, staff and volunteers dedicated an average of 33 hours of support for each newcomer, totaling 22,043 hours of critical assistance and community connection.
