Our Story

In 2003, John and Gill Dalley, a British couple, were moved by the plight of stray dogs and cats in Phuket, Thailand. They joined forces with Margot Homburg, the founder of Soi Dog Foundation, to launch a mass spay and neuter program. Their mission expanded after the 2004 tsunami, garnering increased support and funding to help address the suffering of these animals.

Impact

Soi Dog Foundation has rescued over 16,000 dogs from the dog meat trade and treated more than 21,000 sick and injured animals in the past year alone. With over 1.2 million animals sterilized and vaccinated since its inception, the organization has been instrumental in establishing Thailand's first animal welfare law, prohibiting the consumption of dog and cat meat.
