Our Story

Sogorea Te’ Land Trust was founded in 2015 by Corrina Gould and Johnella LaRose, driven by the mission to protect Sogorea Te’, a sacred Karkin Ohlone village and burial site. This organization is dedicated to the rematriation of Indigenous land, cultural revitalization, and land restoration, led by Indigenous women.

Impact

Through its efforts, Sogorea Te’ Land Trust has successfully returned land to Indigenous care and liberated it from speculative real estate markets, fostering long-term agreements for land stewardship.
