Our Story

Founded in 2016 by Pete Hestekin, Sofas for Service emerged from a heartfelt initiative to support veterans transitioning into HUD VASH Section 8 housing. After witnessing the struggles of veterans lacking basic household furnishings at the Tomah Veterans Administration Medical Center, the organization has since provided essential home furnishings to over 500 veterans and their families across Wisconsin, Minnesota, Illinois, and South Dakota.

With a commitment to improving living conditions, Sofas for Service has made numerous trips to deliver furniture and household goods, significantly enhancing the lives of veterans in need.
