Our Story

The Society of Women Engineers (SWE) was founded in 1950 to empower women in engineering and recognize their contributions as leaders. Originating from small groups of women engineers, SWE has grown into a vital organization that supports women in STEM fields. The Rocky Mountain Section (RMS), chartered in 1954, serves members throughout Colorado and Wyoming, fostering a community of support and professional growth.

Impact

SWE RMS hosts approximately 1,000 girls annually at the GESTEM event, introducing them to STEM careers through hands-on workshops and interactions with engineering professionals. This initiative showcases SWE's commitment to empowering young women in STEM fields.
