Our Story
Founded in 1968 by Alice Morel, the Society of Urologic Nurses and Associates (SUNA) emerged from a passionate meeting aimed at enhancing education for healthcare professionals dedicated to urology. This initiative sparked a nationwide movement, leading to the establishment of the Certification Board for Urologic Nurses and Associates (CBUNA) and the first scientific program by the American Urological Association in 1970. In 2006, the SUNA Foundation was created to further support research, scholarships, and educational programs, ensuring that urologic nursing continues to evolve and improve.
