Society of Saint Vincent de Paul Particular Council of San Mateo
EIN: 94-1375833 · San Mateo, CA
Our Story
The Society of Saint Vincent de Paul was founded in Paris in 1833 by Frédéric Ozanam to confront poverty. Inspired by St. Vincent de Paul, Ozanam's mission was to help the needy on a one-to-one basis. In San Mateo County, the first Conference was established in 1931, and today, there are 32 parish-based Conferences and 3 Homeless Help Center Conferences, supported by over 2,000 dedicated Vincentian volunteers.
Our Impact
SVdP provides essential survival necessities, including food, clothing, and emergency aid to the homeless and precariously housed. Each year, thousands benefit from meals served at Homeless Help Centers and assistance through the Peninsula Family Resource Center.
