Launched in January 2020, SNACC began as an in-person program at a Title 1 school in Manhattan. Originally part of Faces in Between Inc., SNACC evolved to focus on its mission of tackling food insecurity and educational disparities. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the program adapted to a hybrid model, offering virtual cooking classes alongside in-person educational field trips.
SNACC serves approximately 200 individuals weekly, delivering groceries and conducting cooking sessions for students and families across 20 schools in 15 different zip codes. The program has significantly increased nutrition knowledge and boosted self-confidence among participants.
