SMP RISE

The organization provides workforce development to underserved individuals to create a path to careers in the film, television, stage and multi-media industries. We provide a stipend to the workforce apprentices to help with the financial challenges our participants face. Our program curriculum provides a structure for mentorship and hands-on learning within every department of the industry. Each year the participants are challenged with completing a micro-production, from the developments stage, pre-production, production, post-production and distribution. We are a vocational film school of sorts for the underserved. Many of our participants are reentering the workforce from incarceration, those who experienced foster care, and homelessness.
