Our Story

Emerson Hartley Podojil was a vibrant and energetic child who brought joy to everyone around her. In August 2018, after suffering from severe headaches and vomiting, she was diagnosed with a Grade IV Diffuse Midline Glioma. Despite her bravery and the best medical care, Emerson lost her battle with cancer just 10 months later. In her memory, the Smasherson Foundation was established to fund groundbreaking pediatric cancer research and provide vital support to families facing similar challenges.
