Our Story

The Sleeping Giant Park Association was established in 1924 by James W. Toumey, a Yale Forestry School professor, to protect the iconic ridgelines of the Sleeping Giant in Connecticut. Over the years, SGPA has successfully acquired land, terminated quarrying operations, and expanded the park to over 1,500 acres, ensuring its preservation for future generations.

Impact

SGPA has played a crucial role in the conservation of the Sleeping Giant, maintaining 32 miles of hiking trails and engaging the community through educational programs and volunteer opportunities. This fosters a deep connection between the public and the natural environment.

Why Donate?
