Our Story

Sisters Unchained is a prison abolitionist organization dedicated to supporting girls, young women, and nonbinary youth affected by parental incarceration. Launched in 2015, this initiative provides a refuge for impacted youth to focus on self-love and community improvement. Inspired by the Coding for Justice project created by incarcerated mothers, Sisters Unchained aims to break the isolation caused by parental incarceration through radical education, healing, and art.

Our Impact

Sisters Unchained ensures that youth and adults impacted by incarceration are equipped for their future, fostering communities of care and nurturing healing practices.
