About Siskin Hospital for Physical Rehabilitation
In Chattanooga, the legacy of physical rehabilitation is embodied by the philanthropic vision of brothers Mose and Garrison Siskin. Their personal experiences with tragedy fueled a dream to create a premier rehabilitation hospital. Although they did not live to see their dream realized, the Siskin Memorial Foundation established a separate corporation in 1986 to bring this vision to life. In February 1990, Siskin Hospital for Physical Rehabilitation opened its doors, becoming Tennessee’s largest acute rehabilitation hospital and one of the few independent, not-for-profit rehabilitation facilities in the nation.
Impact in the Community
With a capacity of 196 beds, Siskin Hospital has been a beacon of hope for the greater Chattanooga community for over 30 years, providing a wide range of inpatient, outpatient, and fitness center programs. At the heart of Siskin Hospital lies a commitment to charity care, ensuring that individuals without insurance or adequate funding receive the rehabilitation services they desperately need.
