Our Story
Founded in 1950 by Henry Vetter and M.R. Ford, Silverton Area Community Aid (SACA) began as a response to the urgent needs of low-income families. Originally known as 'United Good Citizens,' the organization has transformed over the decades, officially incorporating as Silverton Area Community Aid, Inc. in 1984. Governed by a dedicated Board of Directors, SACA operates with a small team and numerous volunteers, serving nearly 1,000 individuals each month.
Our Impact
In 2023, SACA made a significant impact by providing 320,336 pounds of food and assisting 7,593 visits to the food pantry, along with $396,108 in financial assistance.
