About Sibling Connections

Founded by Judy Cockerton, Sibling Connections is dedicated to fostering and maintaining the vital sibling bonds among children in foster care. The journey began with the establishment of Camp Sibling Connections, a week-long overnight camp designed specifically for kids experiencing separation from their siblings. Witnessing the profound impact of these connections, the organization expanded its mission to include Sibling Socials in Western Massachusetts, providing safe spaces for siblings to create joyful memories together.

Our Programs

In 2013, the Youth Leadership Program (YLP) was launched to empower older participants through leadership workshops and peer mentoring. The introduction of bi-annual Weekend Retreats in 2016 allowed 30-35 siblings to enjoy typical weekend activities, fostering deeper connections. When the pandemic struck, Sibling Connections swiftly adapted by offering Virtual Sibling Visits, including Zoom game nights and virtual camps, ensuring that siblings remained connected despite physical barriers.
