Founded in March 1990, Shreveport Green emerged from a collaboration between the Shreveport Medical Society, Shreveport Beautification Foundation, and the Shreveport Clean Community Commission. With strong support from the City of Shreveport, the organization has evolved to focus on environmental education and community engagement. Today, a dedicated board of 24 directors and a full-time staff of seven work tirelessly to enhance the community's natural and built environments.
Shreveport Green fosters a healthy, sustainable, and economically vibrant community through public outreach and environmental stewardship. Initiatives include tree planting, food cultivation, waste reduction, and litter cleanups, all aimed at improving local environmental conditions.
