Founded in 2013 by Brett (Shoopy) Shoopman, a two-time malignant melanoma survivor, The Shoopy Scramble aims to raise funds for skin cancer detection, treatment, and education. With over $250K raised, the organization has made significant contributions to the Melanoma Research Foundation and Eisenhower Lucy Curci Cancer Center.
To date, donations have enabled free skin cancer screenings for nearly 1000 individuals, with almost half requiring follow-up care. Funds have also facilitated the purchase of a Canva Vectra 3D Imaging Machine and supported community outreach efforts focused on melanoma prevention and awareness.
