About Shippensburg Produce Outreach

Shippensburg Produce Outreach (SPO) was founded in 2008 by community members who recognized the urgent need to assist those with limited access to healthy produce due to financial constraints. With guidance from Project SHARE, SPO evolved into a vital nonprofit organization, achieving 501(c)(3) status in January 2014. Today, SPO operates independently, supported by a dedicated board of volunteers and clients.

Community Impact

Each month, SPO serves over 1,500 families through its drive-in distribution program and delivers to nearly 80 additional residents. In 2023 alone, SPO distributed an impressive 500,000 pounds of food, positively impacting the lives of 61,685 individuals in the Shippensburg community.
