Our Story

The Shield of Faith, Incorporated was founded in 1953 by Dick York in Eugene, Oregon, with a mission to reach out to the street people of the city. This initiative led to the establishment of the Eugene Mission, which continues to serve the community today. After a transformative visit to Korea, Dick dedicated five years to evangelizing and establishing churches, which laid the groundwork for the Shield of Faith Missionary Training program.
