Our Story
Sherwood Community Services was founded in 1957 by eight families advocating for their children with disabilities who were denied access to public education. These families united to demonstrate that their children not only had the right to learn but also the ability to thrive. Over the past 60 years, Sherwood has worked tirelessly to combat the segregation and isolation faced by individuals with disabilities, striving to foster an inclusive community where everyone can live independently and fully participate in society.
