Our Story

Founded in April 2019, Shep’s Place Senior Dog Sanctuary was inspired by the heartwarming story of Shep, a senior dog adopted by Russell Clothier. This sanctuary is dedicated to offering a safe and loving environment for homeless senior dogs in the Kansas City area.

Impact

Since opening, Shep’s Place has provided refuge for over 120 senior dogs, operating at full capacity with a waitlist for new residents. The organization is committed to expanding its facilities to accommodate more dogs and enhance their living conditions.
