Our Story

The Shepherd's House was founded in 1984 by Fred Hood, inspired by the need for a recovery housing program in Central Kentucky. After his son, John, was recommended to attend a halfway house for long-term care, Fred rallied support from Good Shepherd Episcopal Church and the community. In 1989, the Shepherd's House opened its doors, welcoming its first client and marking the beginning of a transformative journey for many.

Impact on the Community

The Shepherd's House is dedicated to enhancing the health and well-being of the community by providing exceptional care to individuals struggling with substance use disorder.
