Shelter to Soldier™ is a dedicated nonprofit organization based in California that rescues dogs from local shelters and trains them to become psychiatric service dogs for post-9/11 veterans. This initiative not only saves dogs from euthanasia but also provides them with a meaningful purpose by pairing them with veterans suffering from Post Traumatic Stress, Traumatic Brain Injury, and Military Sexual Trauma.
Every day, 17 US veterans and 1 active duty service member are lost to suicide. Shelter to Soldier™ addresses this critical issue by providing psychiatric service dogs that help veterans cope with the effects of trauma-related conditions.
