Our Story
Founded in 1978 through the collaborative efforts of the United Bethel and Shiloh congregations, Shekinah Christian School has been a beacon of quality Christian education for over four decades. The vision began with a dedicated school board, led by Ralph Cooley and supported by ministers such as Walter Beachy and Leroy Yoder. After securing land and constructing a building, the school opened its doors to 93 eager students on September 6, 1978.
Over the years, Shekinah has evolved from its initial individualized A.C.E. curriculum to a more conventional teaching approach, ensuring that students receive a well-rounded education. The school has expanded its facilities to accommodate growing enrollment, including the addition of modular classrooms in 2021. As of May 2023, Shekinah proudly celebrated its 45th anniversary and the graduation of its 44th class, totaling 430 graduates who have gone on to make significant contributions to society.
