Our Story
Shay & Pals was born from a heartfelt journey of love and determination. When Brent and Cristal's goddaughter, Shaylee, was diagnosed with autism, they embarked on a quest to find the best resources for her. Their search led them to Generation Rescue, where they discovered invaluable support and guidance. Inspired by their experience, they recognized the need for similar resources in Branson, Missouri, and organized the first "Day for Shay" event, raising funds for Bio-Medical Grants.
This annual event evolved into the larger "Rock the Spectrum," a vibrant celebration that combines fun activities for children with performances for the whole family. Each year, Rock the Spectrum has grown, moving to the Branson Landing and attracting more participants, all while raising awareness and funds for autism support.
Despite the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, which led to the cancellation of events and the dissolution of their partnership with Generation Rescue, Shay & Pals emerged stronger. The organization was officially established, and new partnerships were formed, including a special collaboration with Kulture City. This partnership focuses on making local businesses more inclusive for families with sensory sensitivities.
Shay & Pals continues to work tirelessly to educate the community about autism and sensory sensitivities, ensuring that kindness and understanding prevail. The mission is clear: to create a sensory-inclusive environment for all children and families in Branson.
