Our Story

The Shalom Center was founded in 1983 to address the nuclear arms race from a Jewish perspective. Over the years, it has evolved to tackle pressing social justice issues such as climate change, racism, women's rights, and LGBTQIA+ rights. By merging with other groups and adapting its mission, The Shalom Center aims to transform Jewish holidays into opportunities for public prophetic action through its strategic vision, TSC 2.0.

Impact

For 40 years, The Shalom Center has served as a prophetic voice in Jewish and multireligious life, engaging in public actions and thought leadership. Its initiatives have mobilized communities around climate justice, peace, and human rights, fostering a national movement rooted in the Jewish calendar cycle.
