Founded in 1968, the Shakespeare Society of America (SSA) has dedicated itself to celebrating the works of William Shakespeare. Originally based in West Los Angeles, the organization became stage-centric at the Globe Playhouse until its relocation to the Monterey Bay Area in 2008. The New Shakespeare Sanctuary in Moss Landing now serves as a cultural hub, welcoming over 30,000 guests from 150 countries and territories.
