Shadow Wood Charitable Foundation

Our Story

The Shadow Wood Charitable Foundation was established by dedicated residents of the Shadow Wood communities, who initially organized fundraisers to benefit Habitat for Humanity of Lee and Hendry Counties. From 2004 to 2012, these efforts raised over $1.1 million. In 2012, the Foundation expanded its mission to support a wider range of local charities, obtaining its IRS section 501(c)(3) status in September of that year. The annual golf tournament, held each February at Shadow Wood Country Club in Bonita Springs, Florida, remains the primary source of funding, complemented by generous contributions from individuals and businesses.

Impact

Since its inception, the Foundation has granted over $4 million to local charities, scholarships, and emergency relief programs, including more than $1 million in the fiscal year ending March 31, 2021.
