Our Story

Seventh Generation Interfaith Coalition for Responsible Investment (SGI) is a pioneering coalition founded in 1973 by faith and values-driven institutional investors. With a mission to engage corporations in promoting social and environmental justice, SGI has grown to include 34 organizations dedicated to integrating ethical values into corporate actions, particularly benefiting vulnerable communities.

Impact

SGI members have significantly influenced corporate practices and public policies related to environmental, social, and governance (ESG) issues. Their advocacy has led to a remarkable increase in socially responsible investment (SRI) strategies, with $1 of every $3 under professional management in the U.S. now invested using SRI strategies.
