Our Story
The journey of Seven Angels Theatre began in the City of Angels during the 1988 L.A. writers’ strike. Semina DeLaurentis, an Equity actor, returned to her hometown of Waterbury, Connecticut, where she was inspired to explore the potential for a professional theatre. With the support of six local business leaders, Semina's vision came to life, leading to the first production of the Off-Broadway hit Nunsense in December 1989, which sold out 21 performances. This success paved the way for the establishment of Seven Angels Theatre as a non-profit professional regional theatre in July 1990.
