Our Story

Founded in 1987 by Sam Boyce and a group of compassionate friends, Serving People In Need is dedicated to helping the homeless in Orange County. Each week, volunteers distribute food and engage with families and individuals to understand their struggles. Common responses reveal a cycle of job loss, eviction, and isolation. As housing prices soar, the need for accessible support remains critical, and SPIN is more committed than ever to helping individuals and families achieve self-sufficiency.

Impact

Since its inception, SPIN has served over 76,000 families and individuals. The organization’s programs effectively restore individuals and families in crisis, helping them transition from homelessness to stable housing. Many clients achieve self-sufficiency through the proven support and services offered.
