Our Story
SOS Meals on Wheels, founded in 1966 by Emma Vargas, began as an outreach program in a church facility in Hayward, California. Over the years, it has evolved into a vital service that addresses senior isolation and hunger through the Meals on Wheels model. In 2013, a commercial kitchen was established in San Leandro, enabling the delivery of 1,800 meals daily to seniors in need.
