Our Story
Serve the Children began its journey in Liberia, West Africa, in 1997, witnessing the devastating impact of a 14-year civil war that claimed the lives of 10% of the population. The war left many children vulnerable, with 40,000 involved, often coerced into fighting or forced into labor. In response, a school was opened in Monrovia, providing 125 children with an alternative to violence through free education, food, and counseling.
Today, Serve the Children focuses on education for both children and adults, reaching around 500 children in Liberia. The organization has expanded its mission globally, partnering with Hosanna Ministries in India to support the Gnyan Sampada Residential School. This English-speaking school serves children who would otherwise be engaged in intensive labor, offering them a chance at a brighter future.
In Mumbai, the organization addresses the needs of women and children living in slums, providing sewing classes for women and a day school with meals for children. In Zambia, Serve the Children collaborates with Pure Nard Ministries to offer preschool education, meals, and community support, impacting over 800 children annually.
