Our Story

In 2008, Darrel Schacht, who has a disability, sought hunting opportunities for individuals like himself. His journey led him to Drew McGinnes, founder of the Serve Outdoors (Matagorda Bay) Chapter, who invited him on a turkey hunt. This transformative experience inspired the establishment of the Hill Country Chapter in 2012, aimed at fundraising within the community. Since its first banquet in 2013, the chapter has flourished, supporting veterans, youth, individuals with special needs, and seniors through enriching outdoor activities.

Impact

Serve Outdoors enriches the lives of disabled individuals, veterans, youth, and seniors by providing unforgettable hunting and fishing adventures, fostering community connections and inclusivity.
