Our Story
Founded in 1961 by the Knoxville Downtown Sertoma Club, Sertoma Center began its journey in the basement of First Presbyterian Church, aiming to prepare preschool children for special education. Over the years, Sertoma evolved, shifting its focus to providing comprehensive life services for adults with intellectual disabilities. Since moving to its current headquarters on East Fifth Avenue in 1993, Sertoma has been dedicated to serving approximately 140 individuals and their families, ensuring they lead fulfilling lives.
