Our Story
Founded in 2001 by Fe Silva-Robles and Dr. Nereida Robles Vasquez, Senderos began as an after-school dance club, Centeotl Danza y Baile. This initiative aimed to provide a cultural anchor for Mexican immigrant youth, helping them build confidence and pride in their heritage. Over the years, Senderos has expanded its offerings to include academic support, cultural events, and community engagement, becoming a vital resource for the Latino community in Santa Cruz, California.
Impact
Senderos engages over 25,000 audience members annually through cultural events and educational programs. The organization fosters a college-going culture and provides scholarships to Latinx youth, establishing strong community partnerships and enhancing the cultural landscape of Northern California.
