Our Story
The Selectmen Club of San Jose was founded in 1966 by seven men united by common interests and goals. Initially, the Club aimed to foster social connections, meeting monthly in each other’s homes. The name 'Selectmen' reflects the careful selection process for new members, emphasizing high moral character and community involvement. Over the years, the Club expanded its membership and activities, hosting events like the Installation Brunch, Annual Golf Tournament, and the Scholarship Dinner Dance fundraiser each November, where scholarship honorees are celebrated.
In 1990, the Club established the Selectmen Club Scholarship Fund, a recognized 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to providing financial support to deserving students in Santa Clara County. Through various programs and activities, the Fund enriches the educational and cultural lives of the community.
