Seeds of Strength Giving Circle: A Legacy of Impact

Founded in 2009 by a group of 13 passionate women, Seeds of Strength Giving Circle was inspired by the belief that small contributions can lead to significant change. This women’s giving circle was established to identify unmet needs in the Georgetown community and provide a collaborative philanthropic path to address those needs. The name symbolizes the idea of planting many small seeds that grow into something strong, benefiting the community.

Through a unique voting process, members come together to decide where to allocate funds, ensuring that their collective impact is felt in the community. In its inaugural year, Seeds of Strength awarded $55,000 to five local nonprofits. Fast forward to 2024, and the circle has distributed an impressive $156,500 to eleven local nonprofits, totaling over $2,208,500 since its inception.
