Our Story

Founded in Colorado in 2011 by Arok Garang, a former Lost Boy of Sudan, Seeds of South Sudan is dedicated to transforming the lives of South Sudanese orphans. By rescuing refugee orphans from the Kakuma Refugee Camp in Kenya, the organization provides them with quality education in Kenyan boarding schools. Students are chosen based on their leadership potential and commitment to helping others, ensuring they are prepared to become agents of change in their homeland.

Impact

Since its inception, Seeds of South Sudan has educated over 150 South Sudanese refugee orphans, with more than 60 students graduating from high school and over 20 attending university. Scholarships have also been facilitated for outstanding students to study in Canada, contributing to the rebuilding of South Sudan through education.
