Our Story

Founded in 1984 by Debra Bonde, Seedlings Braille Books for Children addresses the scarcity and high cost of braille materials for children. The organization has grown from producing 221 books in its first year to over 48,000 books in 2023, making a significant impact on literacy for visually impaired children.

Impact

Seedlings has provided over 100,000 free braille books through its Book Angel Program, reaching braille readers in all 50 states and over 75 countries.
