Our Story

The SEED Foundation was founded in 1997 by Eric Adler and Rajiv Vinnakota with a mission to open public boarding schools for underserved children. Since the establishment of The SEED School of Washington, D.C. in 1998, the organization has created a network of college-preparatory public boarding schools, providing a unique educational model that fosters a 24-hour learning environment.

Impact

SEED has graduated over 500 students, with approximately 80% being first-generation college-bound. An impressive 94% of graduates enroll in college, achieving bachelor’s degrees at a rate 3.5 times higher than low-income, first-generation college students nationwide.
