Our Story

Founded in 1982 by a dedicated group of volunteers from Valdosta churches, Second Harvest of South Georgia has evolved from the Unity Food Bank into a nationally-accredited hunger-relief organization. Serving a vast 12,000 square mile area across 26 counties, it is committed to providing essential food resources to those in need.

Impact

Each month, Second Harvest distributes over 1.7 million meals, significantly alleviating hunger in the region. Last year alone, the organization provided 21 million pounds of food and groceries, making a profound difference in the lives of countless individuals and families.
